We didn’t know what to expect about the Central Coast and Umina. All that we knew is that it was on the way to Sydney and that there was a great beachfront caravan park with a huge water playground. Beach, coastal town, kid friendly caravan park – ticked all the boxes on the agenda of families travelling around Australia.
As soon as we left the Pacific Highway we knew we had made the right decision to pick Umina: the sights were stunning. We meandered along the waterways and arrived in a stunning little town on the southern end of the central coast.
When we pulled up at the caravan park we realised we were lucky to get a site: 115 families were checking in that day. Thank goodness the park is huge an there was room and hot water for everyone.
As we had done enough driving for the day we decided to spend the first afternoon at the park: beach, water park and pool was on the agenda with Celeste (2 yo) going on the slide head first about 5,000 times. We finished the day with home made pinacoladas watching the girl play.
Over the next few days we visited almost every single beach there was, from The Entrance to Umina. It was a tad windy but there was a lot of fun to be head.
Finally, on Sunday morning we grabbed our pushbikes and headed north along the foreshore. We discovered the calm water of Ettalong Bay where we all had an invigorating dip in the rather chilly water!
Read our review of the BIG4 Umina here. We rate it as one of the most family-friendly caravan park in Australia.
