We are a family with 2 adults and young children. We purchased a Coromal family caravan in 2013 at the Brisbane Caravan Show. This is our review.

Where are we going? We have decided to go around Australia in a figure of 8. So we aren’t really going ‘around’ Australia in fact. We will first be heading up along the East Coast towards Cairns. Then inland, back towards Brisbane on the Matilda Highway. We should hit Sydney around November and are hoping […]

LARC Amphibious adventures
We spent an afternoon with Neil Mergard, owner of the LARC in 1770…. This is his story. On a cool factor, from 1 to 10, what is it like to drive the LARC? That’s a pretty obvious one isn’t it? Straight up. It has to be a 10 for sure. What else does it? Nothing […]

Starting 2014 in Agnes Water and the Town of 1770
The new year brought in a family adventure in Agnes Water and the town of 1770, Queensland. Agnes is the Byron Bay of 30 years ago, prior to the influx of yuppies and yet without the hippies. It is a quaint surfside town located in the Southern Great Barrier Reef region ( 1.5h drive North of […]
Agnes Water Beach Caravan Park
The beachfront aspect of the park is a big winner. The beach is clean and has a great point break for surfing or stand up paddling. There is a grassy knoll between the park and beach where you can take a camp chair and read a book or have nice picnic in the shade.
The cafe has million dollar views of the beach and is a great place to have a morning pick me up of fresh tasty coffee or fill your belly with a mountain of pancakes.
Lifesaver Local Knowledge
Did you know that Agnes Water’s beach was patrolled by lifesavers all year round? It is gorgeous and located right in the centre of town. What do you like about being a lifeguard? I like coming to the beach every day, working by the ocean, giving information, helping out people, telling people where to swim, […]
