What is so special about Agnes Water?

We are surrounded by water. If you are into water activities you can find something to amuse yourself every day: 3 point breaks, calm water. The fishing is second to none: where else can you catch tuna and mackerel so close to the beach? Some fantastic SUPping for all levels of stand up paddle boarding.

Many people don’t know we have a state school (up to grade 6) and a childcare centre. We also have a full medical centre, physio with 2 supermarkets and a new one under construction.

How did you end up here?

I was in an old combi in 1992 and it was old dirt road so I decided to settle in Yeppoon instead. 20 years later, I finally travelled the same road (now bitumen) and never wanted to leave so I moved the family here.

We see incredible value here and fantastic views. We don’t need air con as we always get a cooling sea breeze.

Why did you start the business up here?

I love living here – wouldn’t you? I can finally mix business with pleasure. I started my studies at the Real Estate Institute of Queensland in 1993. I was so keen to get into real estate and didn’t even had a car! I had to hitch hike around to hold open houses!

So in 2012 I set up our mobile real estate agency called Cam Realty – I was originally only going to do it part time but it flourished and I now have Bill Meade working for me. We have just taken the number one real estate agent for the Agnes Water area.

What do you do in your spare time?

Sunrise on 1770 is where I go and relax with my 2 boys and my lovely wife. Friends continuously come and visit (I wonder why!) so there is always something happening. I  also play the guitar and sing.
